I’ll be playing at LOVE AND 8, a Creaked Records event, in Lausanne on the 1st November. If you’re in Switzerland (or if you’re not, too!) you should try and get along to one of the shows, they’re going to be really great. I’m going to be performing new material, mostly developed from my WeeklyBeats 2012 material. I’ll be assisted on stage by my friend Paul, rehearsals have been going great, we’re having a fantastic time working out how we’re going to present the material.
I haven’t updated for, well, ages! I actually found out that my site had been hacked a while ago, and it has taken some time to sort that out. Anyway I am back.
I’ve been quite active musically in one way or the other, I’ve actually been taking part in Weekly Beats 2012 – a project where musicians aim to upload a piece of music for each week in 2012. It is quite a task. Until two weeks ago, I had been on track, but on a holiday to Ibiza my internet connection let me down, and I failed to do that week. Otherwise the group I’m part of – Outer Dark – is going strong. Our next performance is at the Castle Hotel, Oldham Street, Manchester on the 19th May as part of Carefully Planned.
Firstly, thanks to everyone that came down to the gigs last month at the Whitworth & the Castle – great times.
I’ve got three shows next week, I’m extremely excited about them all. My label mate Oy is coming over from Berlin, and I’ll be playing with her on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (see below for details). These shows will be Oy’s first in the UK, and one of them will be my first in London.
Sadly the Green Room has lost its funding from the arts council, and will be closing at the end of May :o( I don’t really want to be political, but thank you very much Dave & co. The Green Bohemia event on the 14th is still happening, so do go along. My show was cancelled because since the loss of funding many of the event’s old favorites have asked to play, as a newbie performer and long time punter at Green Bohemia, I’m happy to make way for other performers to say their good byes. I’ll be there on the 14th, and strongly recommend anyone come down. It’ll be a fantastic show, and the end of an era.
Green Bohemia will live on however (maybe under a different name?) So, that gig will be rescheduled at a later date, somewhere else in Manchester.
Thanks to all the guys & gals at Brasserie du Chateau in Lausanne. Beautiful fayre including great Pizza and very tasty infusions of rum called ‘Obamas Erotic Punition’ – the Bambou flavour is best (bamboo, lemongrass and ginger). I still don’t understand their poster however.. a Panda-bear on a plastic horse.?
I’ve finally gotten around to making an online gallery of images from various gigs and things over the last 12 months. I’ll keep it updated as stuff happens. If you have any images that you’d like me to put online then email me.
Here’s the images from my live show at Sankeys for EASA – thanks to Caiti for taking the photos.
Just a heads up to say that my record label – Creaked - have released their iPhone application (I think it’s coming for Android too). The app allows you to stream tunes from the Creaked radio, as well as access all the latest information on Creaked’s roster of artists.
I’m going out to Switzerland again on the 29th October, to play at the Shift Festival in Basel, then over the next 3 weeks I’ll be playing a series of gigs around Switzerland. It’d be great to see people there!
